This 6.5-kilometer trail perfectly blends ecological education, fun challenges, and stunning natural landscapes, making it an ideal choice for families looking to explore together. On a sunny March weekend, my family, along with my daughter’s friend’s family, embarked on the adventure, which began at the Guangguang Road entrance. Right from the start, we faced a steep incline that challenged our stamina and sometimes even required the kids to use both their hands and feet to navigate. While this initial slope presented some difficulty, it also offered the kids a wonderful sense of accomplishment as they tackled the challenge head-on in just a few minutes. Once we conquered the steep section, we found ourselves on a gentle, nature-friendly path. Tall, verdant trees surrounded us, and the cheerful chirping of birds created an enchanting atmosphere, as if we had stepped into a lush green ocean. Walking along the trail felt like entering a magical forest. Towering trees flanked both sides, their leafy branches forming a canopy through which sunlight filtered, creating beautiful golden patches on the ground. The soft forest path beckoned us to continue our exploration. As we meandered along, we were delighted by the ecological education signs that dotted the trail. Each sign featured vibrant illustrations and easy-to-understand explanations, revealing the secrets of nature — from different tree species to the fascinating habits of insects. Engaging with these educational displays sparked conversations among the kids, and we found ourselves learning together, gaining knowledge that you simply can’t get from textbooks. Further along the trail, we arrived at the “Forest Warriors” fun challenge area, where a variety of exciting activities awaited us. Here, the kids eagerly tackled balancing beams, a small climbing wall, and a rope net that required both hands and feet to maneuver. Their eyes lit up with excitement as they rushed to take on these challenges. This area quickly became a highlight of our journey. The children enthusiastically participated in the various fun tasks presented by the obstacles, honing their balance and building their courage in the process. The cheers and encouragement created a warm atmosphere, enhancing the family bonding experience. The kids were also captivated by the informative panels on ecological education and fire safety displayed along the route. They learned about forest fire prevention and the ecological behaviors of plants and animals through colorful, engaging information. Facilities like thatched cottages and rainwater harvesting devices added to the experience, offering a glimpse into the harmonious relationship between nature and humanity. This segment of our hike transformed into a lively classroom of the natural world. The countryside trails are designed to be very user-friendly. For hikers, stone and wooden tables, benches, shelters, and other resting areas are provided at regular intervals. On some viewing platforms at the mountaintop, when looking down, you can see a particularly beautiful large reservoir. The reservoir, surrounded by green forests, presents a stunning view. After more than four hours of hiking and playing along the route, we reached our destination. “I set a personal record today by walking the longest distance on the trail!”said one of the girls. About the Qiusu Peak Trail Nestled in Longhua District, the trail stretches between Fucheng and Dalang subdistricts. The starting point is at Guangguang Road, near the Foxconn Baoyuan Technology Park, with the trail ending at Dalang Greenway. Features of the route Scenic beauty: The first 2.3 kilometers feature mountain dirt roads enveloped by dense forests that provide cool shade, while the latter 2.8 kilometers follow a breathtaking greenway lined with trees. Educational and recreational blend: The trail is adorned with numerous forestry education panels and points of interest, such as the Flower Forest Secret Cave and the Forest Warriors. Engaging installations like spider webs, swings, and wooden photo frames make it a perfect place for family fun. Travel tips What to wear and bring: It’s advisable to wear non-slip shoes like hiking boots and bring trekking poles for added stability. Don’t forget mosquito repellent, sunscreen, and a sun hat for protection. Supplies: There are no supply points along the trail, so be sure to bring snacks and water to keep everyone energized. Environmental awareness: All visitors are encouraged to protect this beautiful environment by disposing of trash properly. Safety tips: Exercise caution on steep sections, and make sure parents accompany children at all times to prevent them from wandering off alone. |
